This Home Was Once Part Of A Navy Ship

Categories: Recycle

A boat house on NE Point No Point Road in Hansville Washington.  The house is the actual bridge of a U.S. naval ship, the M/V Jupiter Inlet.  Based on real-estate site records, 8171 Point no Point Road NE is located in Hansville, WA. At this time, the property has an estimated value of $256,200 and yearly taxes of $1,077. This home has 1 bedroom, 1½ bathrooms, and approximately 1,346 sqft of living space. The property was built in 1943.

Above is a Google Earth photo so you can see how this beauty fits into the neighborhood nicely.

And amidst the Washington Snow

Though this is not the ship the home came from, you can see the part of the ship that it belonged to.  I have been unsuccessful in locating an image of the original ship, though in one of the photos depicted here, you can see that there is a photo in front of the home of the original ship.

It is quite nostalgic to live in a piece of American History such as this prominent piece of a naval ship.  If anyone knows of this home personally, I would love an inside tour and story about it's construction to add here.  Thank you in advance!  Contact me at:  ~Dave W.
