Plans are in place for a replica of the hobbit watering hole, the Green Dragon Inn

Carol and Karl, 30, now have plans to create a whole Shire and build six more hobbit homes on their land where they also rent out a camping site and gypsy caravans. 

The pair, who have five children, spent around £100,000 building the hobbit hideaway and received a £15,000 of tourism-related funding from the North York Moors National Park Authority and Redcar and Cleveland Council, plus a start-up loan of £25,000 from Teesside charity Five Lamps. 

The couple, who are parents to Daisy, 16, Charlie, 14, Rosie, four, Holly, three and Poppy, one, have even employed three apprentices, to help build their growing shire.
