"It’s no wonder that the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival draws guests with green thumbs, an affinity for beautiful blooms and fun photos. Even our own shutterbugs here at Walt Disney World keep coming back to for more."

This is Florida Fresh Weekend at the Festival, celebrating the bounty of the Sunshine State with workshops in the Festival Center, and don’t forget the Florida Fresh Outdoor Kitchen, serving Shrimp and Stone-Ground Grits and refreshing watermelon in salad and beverage forms. The Festival runs until May 30.

Throughout Epcot over 100 topiaries will be on display. The Flower Power Concert Series has been renamed the Garden Rocks Concerts. Perennial Flower and Garden favorites such as the English Tea Garden, special kids' activities, and Ask An Expert will be returning. For the kids, there's the Cactus Road Rally Garden Radiator Springs interactive play zone, Tinker Bell's Butterfly House, and the Mike & Sulley's Monstrous Garden. Illuminated topiary and play gardens will light up at night for a whole new festival experience.  Our own Dave Webster was their taking these great photos himself!

Throughout the event, Disney horticulturists and garden experts will conduct seminars, sharing tips and secrets for you to try at home.

70,000 bedding plants will surround the Future World east and west lakes and 220 mini-gardens will be floating out on the water.

Disney has always been proactive with gardening techniques, and using their own fresh gardens for some of the restaurant-fresh foods.  If you didn't know, they are one of the first exploiters of aquaponics and hydroponic innovations through Epcott's Land building, which grows fantastically year round, and continues to explore creative techniques!  They have been teaching us great techniques and spreading the word since 1982!
