Floating Saunas Done Right (videos)

Categories: DIY, On The Water

Saunas are popular in Iceland, Japan, Scandinavia and other parts of the world. Check out what happens when homemade rafts, saunas, and some creativity get together...

A group of friends in Finland built this raft in 2012.

Passengers can dive off the multi-deck tower, enjoy a refreshing dip in the lake, and afterwards relax in the conveniently-located spa feature.

And, this float is actually available to rent.

Seattle stepped out this summer with their own floating sauna.  The unique vessel can hold six people and is propelled by an electric trolling motor with three 12-volt batteries and heated by a wood burning stove. Thanks to 28 empty 55-gallon drums attached underneath, it floats seamlessly along the city's lakes.

Their float comes with a diving board and sunbathing deck.
