This Guy Built His Own In-Ground Pool For $3000... With Step-by-step Instructions (and video)
With summer literally on top of us, keeping cool is key! Not everyone needs a pool with a moat and a rap around lazy river...most of us just need a place where we can be fully submerged, or if you are like me, a place where my kids can splash around and burn off some of that energy I so desperately desire!
Professional pool builders can cost upwards of $13,000 on average and so when I saw that I could literally build my own pool for less than $3000... you better believe I wanted to know how!
Gerry Wilson walks us through a step-by-step process of a DIY pool. From digging your own hole to filling the finished project up with water, he instructs on us what to do. Take a look and let us know what you think:
Excavate your backyard: Slightly bigger than your pools dimensions with the deep end on a slight angle for easier drainage.
Install four posts marking them every inch for level markers to ensure you will be laying your bricks level.
Using the pre-made post markers, began laying your block, completing an entire row before moving onto the next. Each row should stagger by half a block to ensure stability as well as laying rebar the entire length of the row.
